On December 9, Pouso Alegre celebrated the official inauguration of the new factory of the Chinese multinational Midea. With an area of 80,000 m², this project represented a major challenge in terms of deadlines and a significant milestone for all of us. We were able to release the areas to Midea according to the agreed schedule, allowing the plant to begin operations in record time.
With a production capacity of 1.3 million units per year and the creation of 700 direct jobs, the plant will initially produce two-door frost free refrigerators. In 2025, the production line will be expanded to include washing machines, kitchen equipment and kitchen appliances.
The unit, called Midea Indústria do Brasil (MIDB), is part of the company's global strategy to strengthen its operations in Brazil and become the largest white goods market in Latin America. This investment solidifies Midea's presence in the country and boosts Pouso Alegre's economic development.
